Joshua 1:9

Note: Interesting use of ordinance here. I usually think of an ordinance as something we participate in, not as a way for the Lord to grant unto us specific things/gifts that we would not/could not otherwise receive.

Numbers 18:8
¶ And the Lord spake unto Aaron, Behold, I also have given thee the charge of mine heave offerings of all the hallowed things of the children of Israel; unto thee have I given them by reason of the anointing, and to thy sons, by an ordinance for ever.

Note: Preisthood keys give us the knowledge and facts that we need to work through the salvation of each person under our stewardship.

D&C 128:11
Now the great and grand secret of the whole matter, and the summum bonum of the whole subject that is lying before us, consists in obtaining the powers of the Holy Priesthood. For him to whom these keys are given there is no difficulty in obtaining a knowledge of facts in relation to the salvation of the children of men, both as well for the dead as for the living.

Note: Interesting that even the natural elements had periods of trial in order to become, or rather, emulate, their celestial ideals/models.

Abraham 4:18
And the Gods watched those things which they had ordered until they obeyed.

Note: I love the end of this verse--it is one of the most aesthetically perfect/brilliant that one find in all of the scriptures: so powerful was the word of Enoch, and so great was the power of the language which God had given him

Moses 7:13
And so great was the faith of Enoch that he led the people of God, and their enemies came to battle against them; and he spake the word of the Lord, and the earth trembled, and the mountains fled, even according to his command; and the rivers of water were turned out of their course; and the roar of the lions was heard out of the wilderness; and all nations feared greatly, so powerful was the word of Enoch, and so great was the power of the language which God had given him.
