Moroni 6:4

Note: The Lord will be with us in all times of trouble if we rely on him.

D&C 3:8
Yet you should have been faithful; and he would have extended his arm and supported you against all the fiery darts of the adversary; and he would have been with you in every time of trouble.

Note: Prepare. The Lord knows what is to come and his servants will warn us

Mosiah 8:17
But a seer can know of things which are past, and also of things which are to come, and by them shall all things be revealed, or, rather, shall secret things be made manifest, and hidden things shall come to light, and things which are not known shall be made known by them, and also things shall be made known by them which otherwise could not be known.

No power or influence can or ought to be maintained by virtue of the priesthood, only by persuasion, by long-suffering, by gentleness and meekness, and by love unfeigned;

Hebrews 11:7

Note: To remove the darkness from us we must cry unto The Lord, and do so until we have faith.

Helaman 5:41
And Aminadab said unto them: You must repent, and cry unto the voice, even until ye shall have faith in Christ, who was taught unto you by Alma, and Amulek, and Zeezrom; and when ye shall do this, the cloud of darkness shall be removed from overshadowing you.

Note: Paying price for sins is having a broken heart and contrite spirit

D&C 138:59
And after they have paid the penalty of their transgressions, and are washed clean, shall receive a reward according to their works, for they are heirs of salvation.

Note: Law are for actions, a man is free to think as he wishes.

Alma 30:11
For there was a law that men should be judged according to their crimes. Nevertheless, there was no law against a man's belief; therefore, a man was punished only for the crimes which he had done; therefore all men were on equal grounds.

Note: We will be given acording to what is in our heart.

Alma 29:5
Yea, and I know that good and evil have come before all men; he that knoweth not good from evil is blameless; but he that knoweth good and evil, to him it is given according to his desires, whether he desireth good or evil, life or death, joy or remorse of conscience.

Note: Is not limited to high priests or just to the men of the church

Alma 13:1
And again, my brethren, I would cite your minds forward to the time when the Lord God gave these commandments unto his children; and I would that ye should remember that the Lord God ordained priests, after his holy order, which was after the order of his Son, to teach these things unto the people.

Note: How does this apply to our scripture study? Can we feel joy as we learn

Matthew 2:10
When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceeding great joy.

Note: While we must suffer pain, sorrow, and lonlyness. However we can have joy and peace in our hearts if we are obedient to our Heavenly Father.

Mosiah 2:41
And moreover, I would desire that ye should consider on the blessed and happy state of those that keep the commandments of God. For behold, they are blessed in all things, both temporal and spiritual; and if they hold out faithful to the end they are received into heaven, that thereby they may dwell with God in a state of never-ending happiness. O remember, remember that these things are true; for the Lord God hath spoken it.

Note: The prayers of others can have an impact and can make a difference in our lives. Just as we can make a difference in others.

Alma 10:7
As I was journeying to see a very near kindred, behold an angel of the Lord appeared unto me and said: Amulek, return to thine own house, for thou shalt feed a prophet of the Lord; yea, a holy man, who is a chosen man of God; for he has fasted many days because of the sins of this people, and he is an hungered, and thou shalt receive him into thy house and feed him, and he shall bless thee and thy house; and the blessing of the Lord shall rest upon thee and thy house.

Note: The Lord will make all things known to us as we are ready.

Alma 12:9
And now Alma began to expound these things unto him, saying: It is given unto many to know the mysteries of God; nevertheless they are laid under a strict command that they shall not impart only according to the portion of his word which he doth grant unto the children of men, according to the heed and diligence which they give unto him.

Note: Change is posible for all of us, it can take time with prayer and fasting with a desire to change.

Alma 17:3
But this is not all; they had given themselves to much prayer, and fasting; therefore they had the spirit of prophecy, and the spirit of revelation, and when they taught, they taught with power and authority of God.

Note: To have such faith in The Lord, to trust your life into his hands. This is a goal.

Alma 24:21
Now when the people saw that they were coming against them they went out to meet them, and prostrated themselves before them to the earth, and began to call on the name of the Lord; and thus they were in this attitude when the Lamanites began to fall upon them, and began to slay them with the sword.

Note: We only have what The Lord has given us.

Mosiah 4:19
For behold, are we not all beggars? Do we not all depend upon the same Being, even God, for all the substance which we have, for both food and raiment, and for gold, and for silver, and for all the riches which we have of every kind?

Note: Do we feel this way sometimes?

Mosiah 4:2
And they had viewed themselves in their own carnal state, even less than the dust of the earth. And they all cried aloud with one voice, saying: O have mercy, and apply the atoning blood of Christ that we may receive forgiveness of our sins, and our hearts may be purified; for we believe in Jesus Christ, the Son of God, who created heaven and earth, and all things; who shall come down among the children of men.

Note: Difficult times will pass, the sun will rise, the clouds will break.

D&C 121:7
My son, peace be unto thy soul; thine adversity and thine afflictions shall be but a small moment;

Note: The "natural man" is an enemy to God, however man in his natural state is not.

D&C 93:38
Every spirit of man was innocent in the beginning; and God having redeemed man from the fall, men became again, in their infant state, innocent before God.

Note: Scriptures help us remember the great things The Lord has done for mankind.

Mosiah 1:4
For it were not possible that our father, Lehi, could have remembered all these things, to have taught them to his children, except it were for the help of these plates; for he having been taught in the language of the Egyptians therefore he could read these engravings, and teach them to his children, that thereby they could teach them to their children, and so fulfilling the commandments of God, even down to this present time.

Note: Without the scriptures we would suffer in ignorance.

Mosiah 1:3
And he also taught them concerning the records which were engraven on the plates of brass, saying: My sons, I would that ye should remember that were it not for these plates, which contain these records and these commandments, we must have suffered in ignorance, even at this present time, not knowing the mysteries of God.

Note: Never surender, never give up. The Lord is our strength, we can depend on him.

2 Nephi 4:29
Do not anger again because of mine enemies. Do not slacken my strength because of mine afflictions.

Note: Why should we surender to wickedness?

2 Nephi 4:27
And why should I yield to sin, because of my flesh? Yea, why should I give way to temptations, that the evil one have place in my heart to destroy my peace and afflict my soul? Why am I angry because of mine enemy?

Note: The Lord will some day give us rest from the trials and troubles in life.

2 Nephi 24:3
And it shall come to pass in that day that the Lord shall give thee rest, from thy sorrow, and from thy fear, and from the hard bondage wherein thou wast made to serve.

Note: The Lord will purify us with the atonment of Christ.

2 Nephi 16:7
And he laid it upon my mouth, and said: Lo, this has touched thy lips; and thine iniquity is taken away, and thy sin purged.

Note: The Lord will consecrate our trials, they can become the thing that brings us to The Lord.

2 Nephi 2:2
Nevertheless, Jacob, my first-born in the wilderness, thou knowest the greatness of God; and he shall consecrate thine afflictions for thy gain.

Note: We must share what we recieve with thouse who do not gave all that we have.

D&C 104:18
Therefore, if any man shall take of the abundance which I have made, and impart not his portion, according to the law of my gospel, unto the poor and the needy, he shall, with the wicked, lift up his eyes in hell, being in torment.

Note: We must work for what we have, we can not just take from others. It is not right to take from those that work because we do not care too.

D&C 56:17
Wo unto you poor men, whose hearts are not broken, whose spirits are not contrite, and whose bellies are not satisfied, and whose hands are not stayed from laying hold upon other men's goods, whose eyes are full of greediness, and who will not labor with your own hands!

Note: We receive truth via revalation. We receive revalation via the sprit.

John 8:32
And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

Note: Our own guilt torments us.

Mosiah 3:25
And if they be evil they are consigned to an awful view of their own guilt and abominations, which doth cause them to shrink from the presence of the Lord into a state of misery and endless torment, from whence they can no more return; therefore they have drunk damnation to their own souls.

Note: Our trials and dificut times qualify us for the kingdom of God.

2 Nephi 9:18
But, behold, the righteous, the saints of the Holy One of Israel, they who have believed in the Holy One of Israel, they who have endured the crosses of the world, and despised the shame of it, they shall inherit the kingdom of God, which was prepared for them from the foundation of the world, and their joy shall be full forever.

Note: He aknowaged her feelings and then shared his testony. Undertands and validates her concerns, shows his love for his wife.

1 Nephi 5:4
And it had come to pass that my father spake unto her, saying: I know that I am a visionary man; for if I had not seen the things of God in a vision I should not have known the goodness of God, but had tarried at Jerusalem, and had perished with my brethren.

Note: How offten do we judge people who are trying to do what is right because of the wickedness in our own hearts?

1 Nephi 19:9
And the world, because of their iniquity, shall judge him to be a thing of naught; wherefore they scourge him, and he suffereth it; and they smite him, and he suffereth it. Yea, they spit upon him, and he suffereth it, because of his loving kindness and his long-suffering towards the children of men.

Introduction

Chapter 45
Heavenly Father prepared a plan for our salvation. As part of this plan, he sent us from his presence to live on earth and receive mortal bodies of flesh and blood. Eventually our mortal bodies will die, and our spirits will go to the spirit world. The spirit world is a place of waiting, working, learning, and resting from care and sorrow. Our spirits will live there until we are ready for our resurrection. Then our mortal bodies will once more unite with our spirits, and we will receive the degree of glory we have prepared for (see chapter 46, "The Last Judgment").

Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life.
