Note: I remember little about my baptism. I think it's quite common, actually. However, the faith that I had then is still with me or I wouldn't be here today. Cali will be turning 8 and getting baptized soon, which has led me to reflect on a few things. First, i can't believe how fast she is growing! But second, i look at the way she is approaching this decision to be baptized and know that she is exercising faith as a child should. She is looking to her examples; parents, teachers, and friends. She is so excited, and as i have asked her if she desires to be baptized, i can tell that she really wants to and is ready for this step. We must have the faith of a child, rather than over think and intellectualize the gospel. We must be meek and mild and be willing to submit to all the Father will place before us so that we can return to His presence.

3 Nephi 9:22
Therefore, whoso repenteth and cometh unto me as a little child, him will I receive, for of such is the kingdom of God. Behold, for such I have laid down my life, and have taken it up again; therefore repent, and come unto me ye ends of the earth, and be saved.

Yea, and we may see at the very time when he doth prosper his people, yea, in the increase of their fields, their flocks and their herds, and in gold, and in silver, and in all manner of precious things of every kind and art; sparing their lives, and delivering them out of the hands of their enemies; softening the hearts of their enemies that they should not declare wars against them; yea, and in fine, doing all things for the welfare and happiness of his people; yea, then is the time that they do harden their hearts, and do forget the Lord their God, and do trample under their feet the Holy One—yea, and this because of their ease, and their exceedingly great prosperity.
